Leicestershire County Council is now responsible for most of the public health services run previously by the NHS. The Public Health team in the county provides advice and information to help you make healthier choices for you and your family.

By operating from County Hall, the Public Health team has the opportunity to link up with the other Council work that affects health such as social care, transport and libraries.
The Director of Public Health also ensures that broader plans are in place to protect the health of the population and for this, the Public Health team works closely with NHS colleagues, particularly CCGs, to provide advice and ensure local health services closely match the health needs of local people.
