19th August 2024 Independent Prescribing courses for pharmacists in 2024_25_ Applications now open We are pleased to announce that applications for independent prescribing courses for Pharmacists are now open. Courses are available until end March 2025, with several universities offering multiple dates for cohort intakes. Start dates will depend on the university provider.

LLR Asthma Guidelines Final May 2024

Tonight, Wednesday 19th June at 8pm, we will be hosting our monthly community pharmacy drop-in, open house surgery. This is open to all Pharmacists (including Locums)  and Pharmacy Team members within LLR, to learn about what’s going on locally and share some insights.

This month we will be discussing the following :

  • LLR updated asthma guidelines (attached)
  • Presentation and question time regarding an update on the inhaler changes by DR Anna Murphy,  Consultant Respiratory Pharmacist, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
  • We will be joined by Paul Gilbert, Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead for LLR ICB.

3rd June 2024 nhs-england-letter-31052024 Please find important information pertaining to puberty blockers. The Government introduced emergency restrictions on 29 May 2024 on the use of a group of medicines called GnRH analogues when they are used to suppress puberty as part of treating gender incongruence or gender dysphoria in children and young people who are under 18 years of age. Some of these restrictions will take effect from 3 June 2024. The Government’s announcement is published here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-restrictions-on-puberty-blockers.

ePharmacy Stock Request Form -Community Pharmacy (non-CDs)

Over the last few weeks, I have received a few queries from pharmacies unsure how to go about ordering from ADHD.

A quick reminder that the pharmacy will need to raise a (CD/ Non CD) requisition and submit to LPT.

Any pharmacy wishing to order- please send a Purchase Order directly to lpt.pharmacyorders@nhs.net & lpt.jacpurchasing@nhs.net

LPT are supplying all medicines at cost price with no handling fee. Any instances were this changes please do let me know and I will escalate.

You will need to contact LPT directly. Once you have submitted your order to LPT via email, they will call you to confirm your order and will then allocate a slot for you to collect.

Please ensure the Driver has photo ID and make sure you bring the original requisition.

29th May 2024 FW_ Postponement of the Public consultation on the proposal to stop providing NHS prescriptions for gluten-free products.

GF advance notice letter to pharmacy

UPDATE: Postponed until July 4th 2024

Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR)  ICB will be undertaking a six-week public consultation, commencing 3rd June 2024, on a proposal to stop providing prescriptions for gluten-free products.

They are very keen to understand the impact of our proposed change on patients and their families before any decisions are made.

All contractors and pharmacy teams are encouraged to complete the consultation t have your say and provide feedback on the impact this may have on your patients.

LLR ICB are requesting Pharmacy colleagues support them to make patients and their families aware of the public consultation and encourage them to participate.

To find out more about the public consultation they are hosting a half hour webinar on 29 May 2024 at 14.00-14:30. Please arrange for a member of staff to attend if you are unable to join yourself.
