Community pharmacies are at the heart of local healthcare,  accessible, trusted, and vital to the wellbeing of our communities. Community Pharmacy Leicestershire & Rutland (CPL&R) brings together, supports, and represents all pharmacies across our area to ensure their voice is heard and their role is strengthened within the wider health and care system.

About Community Pharmacy Leicestershire & Rutland (CPL&R)

Community Pharmacy Leicestershire & Rutland represents all 222 community pharmacies across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are an independent representative organisation with statutory powers, acting as the lead voice for community pharmacy within the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care System (LLR ICS).

Our role is to provide leadership, support and advocacy for local community pharmacies, ensuring their vital contribution to patient care and public health is recognised and fully integrated within the wider NHS and care system.

CPL&R is led by Rajshri Owen, Chief Officer, supported by a small, dedicated team including a Service Development Lead and a Committee of community pharmacy representatives.

Our committee members are practising community pharmacists; some are elected every four years by independent community pharmacy contractors, while others are appointed by the national organisations representing multiple pharmacy groups.
